Ballet
A graceful classical dance form, ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. Correct body alignment and placement is emphasized. For more information on our ballet program, please check out our ballet/pointe page.
Cheerdance
In cheerdance students will work on sharp and precise dance moves, as well as work on fundamental cheerleading moves like toe touches and herkies. Perfect for the current or future cheerleader!
Creative Movement
Creative movement explores movement and body awareness while challenging the imagination. A wonderful way to work on both coordination and creativity!
Hip Hop
Over the last thirty years this fun and energetic style of dance has gained momentum and popularity. This dancing can now be seen in many popular music videos. In hip hop class, students learn age appropriate hip hop moves and techniques to age appropriate music.
Jazz
Jazz dance can be seen everywhere from television (like So You Think You Can Dance) to musicals (like Chicago). At Dancers Unite, our jazz classes include exciting jumps, leaps, and turns; working on technique, control, and flexibility; and learning jazz choreography.
Lyrical/Contemporary
As seen on So You Think You Can Dance, Dancers Unite’s lyrical/contemporary class incorporates jazz, ballet and modern techniques. Classes will incorporate warming up, across the floor work and learning choreography which emphasize musicality and telling a story.
Modern
Modern is a dance form developed during the twentieth century as a response to ballet. Modern dance encourages self-expression and creativity.
Pointe
Pointe is ballet dancing performed on the tips of the dancer’s toes. All students wishing to take pointe must have teacher approval. For more information on our ballet program, please check out our ballet/pointe page.
Tap
Rhythms are sounded out in tap by the dancer’s shoes. Dancers Unite teaches different styles of tap, from Rhythm Style Tap (like what you would see in Bring In 'da Noise, Bring In 'da Funk) & Broadway Style Tap (like what you would see in 42nd Street).
Tumbling
In tumbling class, students work on basic to advanced tumbling moves (such as cartwheels, back walkovers, back handsprings, etc). A great way to build flexibility & strength while learning floor gymnastics skills! All tumbling takes place on a mat.
