Why competitive dance?

Your child may not become a professional dancer, but if your child participates in competition dance, they will learn wonderful life skills they can use for the rest of their life.
Learn how to win & lose – Competition is unavoidable in life. Your child will have to compete against other applicants for a job, promotion, a spot on a high school team, entrance into college, etc. Having your child learn to enjoy the wins and learn from the losses is an invaluable life lesson.
Work as a team to meet a common goal – Competition students will compete with other students as a group and in order to succeed they will have to work together.
Hard work – Students will have to work hard in order to perfect a routine that will be performed in front of judges.
Discipline – The students will have to be well behaved in the stricter atmosphere.
Increased confidence – The increased number of stage performances will help your child become more comfortable performing in front of a crowd. Also, your child will become more confident in their ability to work hard and achieve a goal.
In addition to life lessons,
Become better dancers – you aren’t just getting constructive criticism from one person but from a number of judges, providing the dancer the opportunity to get even better.
Impress colleges – awards won in dance competitions are impressive to colleges.
Have lots of fun – your child will make life long friendships with life long memories!
